Museum of Decorative Arts: A House for Art, Fashion and Design

The Museum of Decorative Arts offers various thematic tours. Among the highlights are a tour through 150 years of fashion history with approximately 130 costumes and numerous accessories as well as the newly established design collection, which features Bauhaus classics as well as designs by contemporary star designers such as Ettore Sottsass, Philippe Starck and Konstantin Grcic. A chair gallery complements this tour and shows a selection of innovative designs from the 19th century to the present day.

In addition, the Museum of Decorative Arts offers a systematic overview of European design and object art from the Middle Ages to Art Deco. The collection includes medieval treasure art, glittering Renaissance objects, art chamber objects and cabinets from the Baroque and Classicism periods, as well as Art Nouveau and Art Deco exhibits.

The Worlds of Rococo: A new presentation of the porcelain and faience collection

In the 18th century, princes, aristocrats and the wealthy bourgeoisie regarded porcelain as "white gold". The exhibition is devoted to the art of porcelain and faience, design peculiarities and manufacturing techniques, as well as the journey of porcelain from Asia to Europe and its importance today.
