Pioniere der Luftfahrt – Otto und Gustav Lilienthal Adult
Description
The Southwest of the city is closely linked to the pioneering phase of aviation and the work of the Lilienthal brothers. Join us on a guided cycling tour through the green Berlin and discover new aspects of this city.
The brothers Otto and Gustav Lilienthal were interested early on in aviation and its technology. Otto moved to Lichterfelde in 1886 and undertook many attempts from a built up hill to get closer to the dream of flying. His brother Gustav moved to Lichterfelde three years later and worked, among other fields, as a master builder. After the tragic crash and death of his brother Otto he committed more strongly to aviation and remained connected to it for the rest of his life.
Join us on this exciting cycling tour to the places of residence and work of the Lilienthal brothers, who set standards for gliding as early builders of flying apparatus.
