Exhibition "Frans Hals - Master of the Fleeting Moment" - until 03.11.2024 at the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin

Definitely an experience for the senses. Frans Hals: As well as famous artists such as Rembrandt and Vermeer, Frans Hals is one of the greatest portrait painters ever. In a comprehensive monographic exhibition with 75 works, the Gemäldegalerie now presents an exhibition of this artist, who had a key influence on the modern era. This special exhibition includes well-known portraits such as the “Portrait of Catharina Hooft with her Nurse” and the “Singing Boy with Flute”, as well as paintings that have never been shown in Germany before, such as the “De magere compagnie”, which is over four meters wide.
 

Exhibition until 24.11.2024: The Leidner Donation - Northern Italian Painting of the 17th Century

The Leidner donation: The most recent donation from the collector Dr. Günter Leidner brought the Gemäldegalerie three important works by the painters Antonio Zanchi, Christoforo Savolini and Daniele Crespi. Together with other works by northern Italian artists, the paintings have been restored and are now proudly on display. The public will also be able to see works that have never been exhibited before, such as the “Penitent Magdalene” by Italian artist Giovanni Andrea de Ferrari.

Permanent exhibition: Discover the masterpieces

Explore the range of masterpieces from Albrecht Dürer ot Rembrandt and Peter Paul Rubens. A collection of German and Italian painting from the 13th to 16th centuries or Low Countries painting from the 15th to 17th centuries.

Admire, study and explore the impressive collection of 1,000 masterpieces and 400 pictures in the study gallery of the Gemäldegalerie at the Kulturforum.
