Jan van Eyck created his works with a unique brilliance and precision like no other painter in European art history. His works reflect the details of the visible world in an unprecedented way. Jan van Eyck (around 1390/1400-1441) is considered the founder of Early Netherlandish painting.

Zoom on van Eyck: an interactive projection with 20 masterpieces

The interactive digital presentation of his works is at the heart of the exhibition at the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin and now allows you to immerse yourself in the tiniest details of his masterpieces. Zoom into the smallest details of 20 of van Eyck's masterpieces and be fascinated by the art of van Eyck.

Access to original works by van Eyck from his own collection

The exhibition also offers you the opportunity to view van Eyck's originals and at the same time sheds light on the art-technological examination and restoration of selected paintings. Interactive & fascinating. Definitely an experience for the senses.

Permanent exhibition: Discover the masterpieces

Explore the range of masterpieces from Albrecht Dürer ot Rembrandt and Peter Paul Rubens. A collection of German and Italian painting from the 13th to 16th centuries or Low Countries painting from the 15th to 17th centuries.
