Exhibition: From Odesa to Berlin: European Painting of the 16th to 19th Century" at the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin

The exhibition in the Gemäldegalerie shows 60 works of Art from the Museum of Western and Eastern Art in Odesa. This exhibition presents 60 works by well-known European artists such as Andreas Achenbach, Frans Hals, Cornelis de Heem and many others. The special exhibition is divided into 9 chapters and is the first time such a comprehensive exhibition of works of European Painting from the 16th to 19th centuries will be shown from the Museum of Western and Eastern Art in Germany.

Exhibition until 18 May 2025: Get to work! - On the work and toil of women

Discover the exhibition, which presents 25 prints from the 16th to 18th centuries, until 18 May 2025. The works come from France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands and impressively depict the everyday lives of working women of the time. ‘Get to work! - On women's work and toil‘ focuses on women in professions such as farmers’ wives, maids, teachers, maids, midwives and courtesans. It illustrates how women took on essential tasks in agriculture, crafts and education. The development of the portrayal of female labour over three centuries - from the domestic role to social recognition.

Permanent exhibition: Discover the masterpieces

Explore the range of masterpieces from Albrecht Dürer ot Rembrandt and Peter Paul Rubens. A collection of German and Italian painting from the 13th to 16th centuries or Low Countries painting from the 15th to 17th centuries.

Admire, study and explore the impressive collection of 1,000 masterpieces and 400 pictures in the study gallery of the Gemäldegalerie at the Kulturforum.
